A Musical Afternoon with the Joey Weisenberg Trio Celebrating the Legacy of Helen Bader

On August 16, 2009, RUACH proudly presented “A Musical Afternoon” at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, celebrating the Legacy of Helen Bader and featuring The Joey Weisenberg Trio.  Attended by an enthusiastic audience of approximately two hundred persons, the afternoon featured multiple highlights, including a moving video tribute to Helen Bader and special musical commission in her honor.  The commissioned piece and other selections were  wonderfully performed by instrumentalist/vocalist and Milwaukee Jewish Day school alumnus Joey Weisenberg, bassist/vocalist Benjy Fox Rosen and violinist Jake Shulman-Ment.  The Trio invited five performers from Yeshiva Elementary School and RUACH Executive Director/trombonist Josh Richman to join them for a spirited finale.

Ginny and Mike Bolger, Bonnie and Jack Jacobson, Kate and John Mann, Fran and Steve Richman, and Shari and Steven Weingrod co-chaired the event, which also served as a successful benefit for RUACH, attracting contributions from more than one hundred twenty-five generous donors.  RUACH wishes to thank the many people who joined forces to make this occasion a success.
