Special Events
Special public events offered by RUACH throughout its five-year existence have included concerts, recitals, exhibits, workshops and other programs of interest. Among these well-attended events have been concerts, recitals and workshops featuring the King David String Ensemble; Artists and Musicians for Israel (including the rock band Reva l’Sheva); virtuoso violinists Alexander Shonert and Robert Davidovici; and The Joey Weisenberg Trio. Also featured have been exhibits of artwork from RUACH’s Visual Arts Residencies and student recitals.
PRESS RELEASE FROM RECENT EVENT: “An Evening with Frank Almond”
Frank Almond, Concertmaster of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and world-class violin virtuoso, will be featured at a special concert event planned for Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 7 p.m., in Youth Arts Hall of the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 W. Walnut in Milwaukee. The concert, honoring Rubin Sharpe and the memory of Paul Meissner, will benefit RUACH, the Jewish arts and music organization started by its Executive Director Joshua Richman six years ago. In addition to Mr. Almond, guest performers will include pianist Jeannie Yu as well as violist Wendy Richman–granddaughter of community benefactor and volunteer Rubin Sharpe—and clarinetist/composer Max Kaplan, grandson of Paul Meissner, a prominent attorney and philanthropic advisor who passed away in May.
